About La Puntilla Rentals

My husband Bill and I built our home at La Puntilla in 1996.  Our children were in high school at the time, and enjoyed bringing their friends to wild and carefree Mexico.  Throughout the years, we enjoyed traveling throughout Mexico, especially Michoacan and Oaxaca – what a rich and creative country.  One passion our family shares is boating, fishing and travel.  Here’s hoping the grandkids like Mexico as much as we do!

About La Puntilla

La Puntilla is a rare gated community of 19 privately-owned homes surrounded by landscaped gardens and generous open spaces: 10 beachfront single story homes and 9 two-story overlooking the beachfront homes below.

Located on the west coast of Mexico on the Bay of Banderas, near the quaint fishing village of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. The community is 15 miles north of the Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR); depending on traffic, a 30 minute drive.

Built in 1996 by San Antonio, Texas builder Paul Zuleger. All homes have private pools, marble floors and 2-3 bedrooms and 2-3 bathrooms.

La Cruz offers a private marina, many restaurants, boat tours, fishing charters, a Sunday Organic Market and entertainment.  Located 20 minutes southeast of Punta Mita, where you will find numerous golf courses, surfing and more restaurants.

About La Jolla de Mismaloya

Mismaloya (Nahuatl: michmaloyan, “place where they catch fish with their hands”) is a small town located on the coast of Banderas Bay in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Mismaloya is located on Federal Highway 200, south of Puerto Vallarta .

The sea temperature is quite good and stable, with lows of 23 degrees Celsius (73.4 °F) in March, and highs of 30 degrees Celsius (86.0 °F) in August.

Mismaloya is known for being the site where the 1963 film The Night of the Iguana was filmed. This movie made Puerto Vallarta famous. On the other side of Federal Highway 200 from Playa Mismaloya is El Edén, a jungle environment where scenes from the movie Predator were filmed.

Mismaloya beach is located in a beautiful cove, with a full view of the sea rocks of Los Arcos, a good place for snorkeling. There are boats that tourists can rent, and the beach is where several open-air restaurants are located, as well as the Barcelo Hotel, the Vallarta Zoo and the La Jolla de Mismaloya Condominiums, you can also reach the Vallarta Botanical Gardens by 15 minutes by bus.
